foal legs gave not a single hint of aid as they tangled and tripped. Ig landed with a loud "THUMP" on his fluffy chest.

Shaking himself off and making sure his Gift was still intact, he picked up a rather brisk trot and made his way over to 

the water's edge. The beautiful filly was grazing nearby. 

He stopped about a horsepace behind her and cleared his throat quietly.

That's when she turned around.

Her face was beautiful! Sparkling eyes glittered like stars beneath her silky forelock. A smile played on her lips between 

her barely-visible canines. 

Ig stretched his neck out, nearly touching her to show the single, last, and only remaining rose of the season. Between its 

thorn-speckled stem, he uttered, "For you," Ig smiled as best he could. 

Then the beautiful filly noticed the blood that trickled down his lips.

Her eyes widened.
